А new face — Dana-Paramita/Pre-order + Anitya and Marici

 

Over the years of creating different incarnations of Anitya, I gradually realised that I wanted to sculpt a new face—one that would retain her softness and quiet sense of serenity, while introducing slightly different facial features. I imagined a finer nose with delicately shaped nostrils, slightly fuller lips, and a softer, rounder face. I began modelling these features in epoxy sculpting putty, and little by little a new face emerged. Meet Dana-Paramita, or simply Dana — the newest face by Bardo Research.

 

Dana-Paramita

The name Dana-Paramita comes from the Sanskrit Dāna Pāramitā (दान पारमिता), meaning "the Perfection of Generosity" or "Transcendent Giving."

In Buddhist tradition—particularly within Tibetan Vajrayāna—Dāna Pāramitā is the first of the Six (or, in some traditions, Ten) Pāramitās, the transcendent virtues cultivated on the path to awakening. It represents far more than the act of giving material possessions. It is the practice of offering one's time, knowledge, care, protection, and inner light freely, without expectation of reward.

Dāna (दान) means generosity, selfless giving, or offering from the heart—whether in the form of material gifts, protection from fear, or spiritual wisdom.

Pāramitā (पारमिता) literally means "that which carries one to the other shore." In Buddhism, the Pāramitās are the highest virtues cultivated by a bodhisattva on the path to enlightenment.
