The Surveyor
“In the beginning was the Survey.”
The Surveyor is an incarnation of The Engineer defined not by creation, but by perception. To survey is not merely to measure, but to observe, to encompass the whole, and to understand the true shape of space. He sees the entire site at once, not as separate walls or parts, but as a single, coherent form.
The Surveyor knows where the center truly lies, where balance is only assumed, and where a project will fail long before it begins. He understands this without judgment, and still completes the measurements — because knowing the limits is a form of respect.
He does not create; he sets boundaries. By doing so, he defines what can exist, simply by seeing it for what it truly is.
